In an effort to further strengthen our coaching resources, we are now inviting interested bowlers to apply for the position of lawn bowls coach.
The basic requirements for the applicants are:
- At least five years of bowling experience, and should have played at least 50% of the games in the LBA premier league in each season in the past five years (2019-2023); and
- Should have gained at least FOUR points annually from National Competitions in three of the last five years (2019-2023) ; and
- Age between 18 and 60; and
- Recommended by the applicant’s club lawn bowls convenor and a qualified coach who is on the existing LBA Coach List; and
- Pleasant personality and be willing to help develop the sport; and
- Physically fit to conduct training courses under demanding environment.
Once your application has been received a screening process will be conducted by LBA’s Coaching Panel. The successful applicants will then undergo a 3-hour course and an assessment (interview & skill test) by LBA. Having passed the assessment, applicants have to enroll in “Jockey Club Foundation Certificate In Sports Coaching Theory (QF Level 2)” by Hong Kong Sports Institute before they are awarded a certificate of Level One Coach by LBA.

Please note that the first lecture is scheduled on Friday March 21, 2025 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Olympic House in Causeway Bay for the successful candidates, and the assessment is tentative set for Saturday April 5 and April 12, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., venue to be confirmed.
The enrollment fee for the training course and assessment organised by LBA is HK$500, another HK$500 will be charged for the practice at two training courses (total 32 hours) arranged by LBA afterwards. Details will be advised in the notification letter for successful candidates.
