Effective immediately, HK Squad members are permitted to form a team with HK Youth Development Team members to compete in national championships and competitions.
The purpose of this initiative is to provide the progressive YDT members with the opportunity to experience playing with bowlers with a track record in open competitions.
In the past two years, HK Squad members have been required to contribute in training sessions of the YDT. The new initiative is an extension of the concept into the next level.
The following conditions apply:-
1. HK Squad members are permitted to form a team with HKYDT members to participate in national championships and competitions in the name of a HKYDT team.
2. Prior written approval of the HKYDT Coordinator is required for any YDT member to form such a team.
3. At least one of the members of the team thus formed must be a YDT member.
4. If a substitute is required, the substitute must be a member of the HK Squad or YDT. At least one YDT member must be included in the team after the substitution. Prior written approval of the HKYDT Coordinator is required for any HK Squad or YDT member to act as a substitute.
5. During the course of the national championship or competition concerned, all members of the team are abide by the relevant rules and regulations of the YDT as instructed by the HKYDT Coordinator. Smoking and alcohol are strictly prohibited while representing the YDT. Failure to comply will lead to disciplinary action by Vice President International and/or Vice President Development.
6. All team members are required to wear the same YDT team uniform in all matches, except otherwise required by the conditions of play of the event concerned.
7. All entries have to be submitted to LBA Office via the HKYDT Coordinator. YDT members of the team will continue to be entitled to any prevalent entries fee discount. HK Squad members are required to pay the full fee. The team is not entitled to any venue subsidy normally afforded to YDT members.
8. No side coaching for the team is allowed.
HKLBA will review the program in 12 months to evaluate the effectiveness and may impose enhancement if necessary.
